Research Focus
The selected candidate will primarily focus on:
- Developing new, dendro-inspired machine learning models.
- Working within Work Package 3 (WP3) of the project: “Dendro-based learning in spiking (SNN) and artificial (ANN) neural networks.”
The successful candidate will be employed by the Poirazi Lab, which is responsible for the scientific oversight of this project.
Required Qualifications
- University Degree (BSc) from a School of Positive Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science Departments) or a School of Engineering/Mechanics, or a related field.
- Postgraduate Degree (MSc) in Neuroscience.
- Enrollment in a Postgraduate Program in a relevant field leading to a Doctoral Degree (PhD).
- Demonstrated excellent command of the English language.
- Experience in using programming languages (e.g., Python).
- Experience in using Machine Learning and/or Deep Learning models.
Desired Qualifications
- Publications in scientific journals and/or preprint servers (e.g., bioRxiv, arXiv) and/or in conferences.
Employment Details
- Duration: 12 month employment contract (yearly contracts are default for FORTH employees), renewable until the project’s completion.
