Alexandra Tzilivaki, an undergraduate Biology student working in our lab, has been awarded the prestigious pan-European “Google EMEA Scholarship” for the academic year 2015-2016 (www.google.com/edu/scholarships). Applicants for the EMEA scholarship have been screened by Google for their academic standing, leadership skills and demonstrated passion for Computer Science. Alexandra is the only recipient working in a Greek Institution that has received the fellowship since its inauguration in 2011. Moreover, she has ranked first among 10 fellowship recipients across Europe and Israel. The fellowship will support Alexandra during her research work at IMBB-FORTH (www.imbb.forth.gr), her Master studies in the Department of Biology, University of Crete (https://www.biology.uoc.gr) and her second degree undergraduate studies at the Department of Computer Science (www.csd.uoc.gr/en/).
We are proud to have her in the lab and wish the best for her future career endeavours!
