Research Focus<\/h3>\n

The selected candidate will primarily focus on:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Developing new, dendro-inspired machine learning models.<\/li>\n
  • Working within Work Package 3 (WP3) of the project: “Dendro-based learning in spiking (SNN) and artificial (ANN) neural networks.”<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The successful candidate will be employed by the Poirazi Lab, which is responsible for the scientific oversight of this project.<\/p>\n

    Required Qualifications<\/h3>\n
      \n
    • University Degree (BSc) from a School of Positive Sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science Departments) or a School of Engineering\/Mechanics, or a related field.<\/li>\n
    • Postgraduate Degree (MSc) in Neuroscience.<\/li>\n
    • Enrollment in a Postgraduate Program in a relevant field leading to a Doctoral Degree (PhD).<\/li>\n
    • Demonstrated excellent command of the English language.<\/li>\n
    • Experience in using programming languages (e.g., Python).<\/li>\n
    • Experience in using Machine Learning and\/or Deep Learning models.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Desired Qualifications<\/h3>\n
        \n
      • Publications in scientific journals and\/or preprint servers (e.g., bioRxiv, arXiv) and\/or in conferences.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Employment Details<\/h3>\n
          \n
        • Duration<\/strong>: 12 month employment contract (yearly contracts are default for FORTH employees), renewable until the project’s completion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
